National Teaching Fellowship
The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) is applicable to those working in England and Northern Ireland. It is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland (DEL NI) and administered by the Academy on their behalf.

NTFS Individual Awards
Under the individual scheme up to 50 awards of £10,000 are made to recognise individual excellence. The award is intended for National Teaching Fellows' professional development in teaching and learning or aspects of pedagogy. Nominations are invited from eligible institutions in England and Northern Ireland.

The Individual Awards, of £10,000 each, recognise and reward individual excellence in teaching in higher education in England and Northern Ireland. The awards may be used for Fellows' personal and/or professional development in teaching and learning aspects of pedagogy. Further information about the scheme and existing award holders is available from the Higher Education Academy NTF Scheme web pages.

University & National Teaching Fellowships 2010
In previous years, London Metropolitan University has been successful in achieving several National Teaching Fellowship awards. The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) provides annually for up to 50 individual awards of £10,000 each within the Higher Education sector.

The University encourages applications for the NTFS and may nominate up to three individuals. The individual award may be used for personal development in learning and teaching. Award holders will additionally be eligible to bid for NTFS Project funding.

All teaching staff and those involved in the support of learning and teaching who have a full-time or fractional University contract are eligible to apply.

In addition to supporting the National scheme, in 2007 the University launched its own Teaching Fellowship scheme to recognise outstanding contributions to learning and teaching within the University as well as within the higher education community. Eligibility for an internal award requires submission of an application for a national award.
